MAKING THE GRADE
The Top Four Players Going To
The NFL, CFL and Arena League for '07/'08

NFL

Player

NFL E/
NFL Team

Notes

  J.T. O'Sullivan
QB
  Frankfurt
Detroit
Has showed focus and leadership; ability to overcome mistakes. Could wind up as a number 2 and part time starter.
  Gary Gibson
DT
  Hamburg
FA
Gibson spent the season as part of a defensive line that stuffed the run. He has a motor that doesn't stop
  Jason Hall
DE
  Cologne
Carolina
Swooping in from his end position, Hall was murder on QBs; Carolina was thin on the defensive line when injuries hit
  Chris Barclay   Berlin
Cleveland
Barclay was the running game for most of the season in Berlin. He's a tough inside runner and has cutback ability. His pass blocking and receiving has improved over the season.

CFL

Player

NFL E/
NFL Team

Notes

  Michael Franklin
RB
  Rhein
Free Agent
At 5'7" NFL teams would envision him as a Dante-Hall type return man. But Franklin proved durable as a RB and dangerous in space. Imagine him on a wider field. He reminds some of Pinball Clemons, now head coach of the Argos
   P.K. Sam   Rhein
Miami
Sam has speed and has matured and he may fit in the new Miami offense but he'd be heck on wheels with the wider field in the CFL. It depends who the QB is
  Skyler Fulton
WR

Amsterdam
FA

Fulton bulked up this year and wasn't the deep threat he was the year before. However, defenses had trouble covering him from the slot. Imagine him with the BC Lions and their receivers.

Bobby Blizzard
TE

  Cologne
FA
Blizzard was more of a receiver than a blocker last year in Hamburg. He's improved blocking and is a passing threat in the Cologne offense this year.

ARENA

Player

NFL E/
NFL Team

Notes

  Marcus Maxwell
WR
  Hamburg
San Francisco
Maxwell has excelled on quick slants and improved on deep patterns. Perfect for the Arena game. As Utah proved with ex-Thunder receiver Aaron Boone, Maxwell could thrive as their yo-yo or slot receiver
  Carlton Brewster
WR
  Berlin
Green Bay
Green Bay likes to find players where ever they can. However, they like 'em tall and at 5'11" he may too small. He's great in the short passing game.
  Drew Olson
QB
  Amsterdam
Baltimore
No doubt he has a chance in Baltimore and learned a lot from the Amsterdam offense, but he'd do well at the rapid-fire Arena game.
  Noriaki Kinoshita
WR
  Amsterdam
National Player
Surprise! Kinoshita is a hard worker who is a great return specialist and started to polish is game (ball awareness, drops, finding holes in the defense). He'd be exciting in the Arena game.It depends if the Falcons keep him. He would be a boost to the game as they try to expand world-wide.
